At the 97th Academy Awards, Anora emerged as the night’s big winner, taking home five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actress for star Mikey Madison.The Oscars returned on Sunday, March 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The show honoured the films released in 2024 within 23 categories. Emilia Pérez went into the night leading the pack with 13 nominations while The Brutalist and Wicked followed with 10 each, but it was Anora that came out on top in the end. The star-studded ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, closed out an unforgettable award season, but the fashion on the red carpet really took centre stage. The night began with a performance from Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as they took the stage to sing the iconic Defying Gravity from Wicked. Viewers were also treated to a surprise performance from Queen Latifah.
