BBC chiefs are getting ready to snap up Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford for their very own show after rumours that they’ve been dropped from the Friday slot on This Morning.
The iconic TV duo, both 60, were told they were being axed from the ITV daytime show a month ago, reports The Sun.
With speculation running high as to who will fill their boots on the show, it has been suggested that their role will be handed over to former Big Brother contestant Alison Hammond, 45, and X Factor host Dermot O’Leary, 47.
As it seems things will switch up very soon, BBC chiefs have wasted no time at all and are making space for the TV husband and wife on their very own station.

An insider revealed to the publication: “Eamonn and Ruth have a huge fanbase and are very experienced.
“They can easily carry any number of shows, so producers at the Beeb are considering handing them a format to front.”
Daily Star Online have contacted the BBC and representatives of Eamonn and Ruth for comment.
The Morning fans have been up in arms about their favourite Friday double act allegedly being “sacked”, ever since Ferm Britton expressed her shock by re-sharing a tweet about the speculation.
The message read: “What appalling treatment of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford by This Morning and ITV.

“They have been absolute loyal rocks to that show through turmoil and are beloved behind the scenes. Sad to see.”
Fern simply penned: “Oh no?”
A follow up post from the same account was also shared by the former TV host who left the ITV show herself in 2009, which read: “That doesn’t take away from the fact Alison Hammond is a superstar who deserves the world.
“Overlooked for far too long by ITV, this is her moment.”
In spite of the rumour mill running into overdrive, ITV have since shut down on-going speculation that Eammon and Ruth are leaving the programme.
A spokesperson for This Morning told Metro.co.uk: “We have a stellar presenting line up on This Morning in Holly and Phillip and Eamonn and Ruth.
“Any additions to this line up will be announced in due course.”
Until now Dermot has remained tight lipped on the television deal but recently told an Irish show: “It is always tricky when there are colleagues and friends involved.
“There’s nothing confirmed yet.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
