Coronation Street star Alison King has spoken out after footage has emerged of her costing up to co-star Mikey North at the National Television Awards on Tuesday evening.
The Coronation Street cast member, 46, was seen looking cosy with her co-star colleague Mikey, 33, as they sat in the crowd together.
The pair, who play Carla Connor and Gary Windass, were seen leaning into each other, sparking speculation they had kissed during the ceremony, but both of the stars have furiously denied it.
Alison King has released a statement which admits that whilst she may have drunk too much, and had to leave the event early, she and Mikey did not share a kiss.
She told Mirror Online: “I would like to take this opportunity to say that, whilst it was obvious to see that regrettably I did have too much to drink at the National TV Awards, and chose to leave the event early, I did not kiss my co star Mikey North as has been reported.”

The video comes amid claims Alison was “rowdy” at the star-studded event held at the O2 arena on Tuesday evening.
A witness at the awards was stunned to see the pair being intimate, as they said to The Sun: “He has a family and she’s engaged. It’s the last thing you expect to see.”
In the video tipsy Alison cuddled up to Mikey as other guests looked on.
The Corrie actress confirmed she was engaged to IT salesman avid Stacey back in September last year.
Alison told OK! Magazine at the time: “It was just a few days after our one-year anniversary.

“I had an inkling he was going to pop the question because he kept putting something on my finger and going: ‘Right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened.
“We’d also discussed marriage, too. I think we both went from, ‘No, we don’t ever need to get married,’ to, ‘Oh, we really want to get married!’.”
Mikey, who joined the soap in 2006, is married to wife Rachael Isherwood, who share two children, son Archie and daughter Eliza.
Responding to claims that the pair shared a kiss, Mikey told OK! Magazine: “I would like to make one thing clear.

“I did not kiss my co-star Alison King during the recent National Television Awards.
“It is beyond ludicrous to suggest that I would or that I did.
The actor continued: “The grainy recording shows me simply speaking into her ear at what was a noisy public event.
“This report has caused me and my family a great deal of distress.

“I have an amazing wife who I adore and, as incredibly supportive as she is, it is unacceptable that she should have to deal with people seeing this kind of baseless gossip on the front page of a newspaper.
“I am so upset about this, and will not stand by while my personal reputation is tarnished.
“I have lodged an immediate complaint with the Independent Press Standards Organisation.”
