Husband and wife couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have long been a staple of ITV fixture This Morning, lighting up television screens on Fridays every week.
While the dynamic duo will still be filling in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during their holidays, Eamonn and Ruth seem to have taken their unexpected free time as an opportunity to focus on getting fit and healthy.
Eamonn has already proudly lost three stone, and now he and wife Ruth are planning to spend 2021 toning up and building their muscles even further.
Eamonn, 61, and Ruth, 60, have explained that an important reason for their lifestyle change comes from trying to stave off osteoporosis.

As a result, the pair will attempt to convert their garage into a training gym full of weights and other exercise machines.
Ruth shared: “A lot of fitness experts advocate weight or resistance training to give yourself tone, strengthen your core, posture and strengthen your bones, therefore staving off osteoporosis in older age.
“My vision is to get a weights bench in the garage and spend 30 mins every day on a joint routine.”

Meanwhile, Eamonn insists his health drive is all down to a New Year’s resolution he made nearly six years ago, and credits it for his weight loss too.
“I have shed 3st over five years,” the Irish presenter proudly said, after he managed to get down to 15 stone.
“I genuinely believe in New Year’s resolutions. It’s a great time to take stock to repair your habits, to improve your life,” the star added.

His journey has been a bit of a rollercoaster, with Eamonn even becoming “hooked” on a juice diet at first.
The presenter explained he now ensures only one meal a day is a juice, but has spent the last three years sticking to a 12-hour fast every day, which has helped him lose his last stone.
Eamonn also walks the couple’s dog every day and does Pilates once a week, with the pair making sure they move “briskly for 30 minutes, three times per week minimum” too.
The husband and wife team’s main focus for 2021 is strength training, so fans could see an unrecognisable Eamonn and Ruth by this time next year.
Joking how the new regime would bring them closer together, Ruth said during an interview with Best magazine: “You could lie on the bench and I could pass the dumbbell or bars to you and vice versa. It would be also good for our relationship, as we couldn’t fall out.
“Imagine if during my upset I was to accidentally drop something weighing 40kg on you,” she teased.
