Holly Willoughby made a welcome return to This Morning on Monday, after Alison Hammond and Davina McCall stepped in to replace her during last week’s show.
Joining Phillip Schofield in the ITV studios, Holly made no mention of her absence from the set, and instead went straight into a segment on festive advent calendars.
However, the 39-year-old had addressed her absence on social media over the weekend, revealing she took the time off work to care for her children.
Holly and her husband Dan Baldwin are proud parents to three children – Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, five.
The mum-of-three confessed her little ones had fallen ill with Covid-like symptoms, and so she was nursing them from home while they awaited their test results.

She said: “Just wanted to say thank you for all your kind messages…
“Over the last few days, two of our children were unwell and had symptoms of Covid.
“In line with government guidelines we were waiting results of the tests before I could return to work, couple that with just wanting to look after two poorly children, it meant having two days away from This Morning.”
Holly was quick to reassure her fans the children had tested negative for the virus, and had made a speedy recovery after a few days of rest.

She continued: “I chose not to alert everyone because my focus was on looking after them.
“Thankfully the results came back negative and everybody’s feeling much better.”
The post finished: “See you Monday! Once again thank you for all the lovely messages.”
With Holly’s return to This Morning on Monday, viewers were thrilled she had made her spectacular comeback, as they took to Twitter to welcome her back to the show.
