Jesy Nelson’s first ever X factor audition has resurfaced after she quit Little Mix leaving fans gutted.
The former girl-band member dropped the bombshell on Monday and blamed the “constant pressure.”
Jesy rose to fame after auditioning as a solo act in 2011 when she was just 20-years-old.
The 29-year-old singer auditioned for the eighth series of the X Factor and performed ‘Bust Your Windows’ by Jazmine Sullivan.
The fresh-faced youngster showed of her soulful voice dressed in baggy clothes and permed locks.
After her audition, judge Tulisa Contostavlos was left impressed and “pleasantly surprised.”
Kelly Rowland said: “I could actually see you in a band.”
However, Gary Barlow was far less impressed and said she “lacked individuality” and was “very generic “– his comments were met with boos from the audience.
She managed to make it through to Boot Camp however judges then decided they did not see her as a solo artist.
Her journey began with bandmate Perrie Edwards and the duo formed ‘Faux Pas’ – at the same time, Jade Thirwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock had formed the duo ‘Orion’.
But neither duo made it through Judges House, and went on to form as a band of four – Rhythmix, later changing to Little Mix.
The band was the first ever group to win the show on 11th December, 2011.
Since then, Jesy had openly spoken about her struggles of being in a girlband and about being left suicidal after cruel trolls mocked her appearance following Little Mix’s X Factor win.
Speaking about their new rival talent show Little Mix: The Search earlier this year, she said: “We wanted to make it more relaxed.
“We have experienced first hand exactly what it feels like walking into an audition and we didn’t want it to be anything like that for them on our show.
“I think instantly the contestants felt at ease anyway because it is us and I think we instantly put them at ease.
“It was so important for us to make it relaxed as there is nothing worse than walking into an audition… it’s just… honestly, I just think it’s the worst experience ever.
“It is true… I am sure the other three will agree with me it is f***ing terrifying to the point where with my first audition I don’t even remember it as I was that scared.’
Jesy shocked fans around the world yesterday after deciding to put her own mental health first and instead of taking an “extended break” as previously announced, to step away from the group completely.
In a heartfelt statement, she explained that she wanted to not only devote more time to herself but to her “loved ones” too.
