Little Mix : The Search fans were left far from impressed tonight after boyband Since September shocked everyone to win the BBC talent show.
In a twist hardly any of the viewers seemed to see coming, the lads managed to take home the crown and beat off stiff competition from the other three rival bands.
The other final bands were girl groups Nostalia and Melladaze as well as Rap R&B group YChange.
Looking stunned at their win, Since September, which is made up of Patrick Ralphson, Jacob Fowler
Matthew Nolan and Harry Holles, said: “Honestly we have all dreamt of this moment and it could have gone anyway, it could have gone to anyone.”
Beaming, Little Mix star Liegh-Anne Pinnock said: “They deserve this.
“Honestly you guys are ready to go.
“We can’t wait to work with you guys and see how your career goes.”
Jade Thirlwall added: “They are absolutely going to get the Little Mix fans excited.”
However, social media users weren’t as pleased with the outcome.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Lol that’s an absolute joke legit only won cos apparently girls don’t like girl bands even though they’re clearly more talented #LittleMixTheSearch.”
Another added: “This is a joke right? #LittleMixTheSearch.”
A third continued: “Since September just won. This must be a joke?
“Nostalia were so much better by far. What the hell. #LittleMixTheSearch.”
Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in: “That is a joke LMAO.
“Boy bands have it SO EASY! #LittleMixTheSearch.”
As part of their prize, Since September will join Little Mix on their 2021 UK tour.
The trek is slated to kick off next year so long as coronavirus social distancing rules are lifted.
During Saturday’s final, Jesy Nelson was missing from the judging line-up due to illness.
A short statement released on Saturday morning read: “Jesy is unwell and will not be appearing on tonight’s final of Little Mix The Search. She will also not be hosting or performing at tomorrow’s MTV EMA’s.”
