Loose Women's Andrea McLean 'breaks TV rules' in sultry off-the-shoulder dress

Loose Women star Andrea McLean admitted she’d broken the “rules” with her wardrobe choice on her last ever episode of the ITV show.

The 51-year-old, who has been an anchor on the show since 2007, has decided to leave Loose Women, filming her final episode on Wednesday.

Dressing to mark the occasion, Andrea looked radiant in a deep red off-the-shoulder dress, complete with a fitted waist and long sleeves.

Cut in an asymmetrical fashion, the gown showed off one of Andrea’s tanned shoulders, the ITV star adding glittering silver earrings by way of accessories.

While Andrea looked stunning as ever, she admitted the outfit choice was a risky one, as shoulders are apparently “banned” on daytime TV.

Following a discussion over the phrase “mutton dressed as lamb,” Andrea insisted she didn’t care what people thought of her wardrobe today.

Looking back to the past, she pointed out in her early days on the show, she was far more concerned with the opinions of others.

Janet Street-Porter exclaimed: “The Andrea sat here now is a feisty individual.”

Nodding in agreement, Andrea then made reference to a little known rule when it comes to the wardrobe department on daytime telly.

She said: “Literally got my shoulders out, even though I’m not technically allowed because it’s day time TV.”

Andrea’s final appearance on the show was an emotional one, with each of the Loose Women panellists mopping up their tears before the episode wrapped.

As a special surprise, Brenda Edwards appeared in the final moments of the show, singing a dazzling rendition of the hit song My Girl.

Andrea admitted she’d tried to hold it in, but couldn’t stop the tears from spilling down her cheeks.

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
