Piers Morgan speechless as GMB guest refuses to let him speak in fiery clash

Piers Morgan accused a guest of trying to “filibuster” him on Monday’s Good Morning Britain, as Republican Party official Harmeet Dhillon appeared on the show.

Chatting with Piers and Susanna Reid, Harmeet joined author Jeffrey Archer on the show, appearing via video call.

Things quickly escalated when Harmeet accused Piers of saying something “untrue,” and then spoke over him as he tried to make another point.

Shocked by her outspoken speaking style, Piers fumed: ‘You can’t filibuster me, it’s my programme.”

As witty as ever, Susanna Reid then interjected: “It’s like interviewing yourself, isn’t it?”

It all kicked off when Piers challenged President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, criticising his leadership.

He asked: “Why given Donald Trump’s woeful handling of this pandemic which has led to America having over 20% of the world’s deaths from this virus and is now having over 1,000 people a day dying, record infection rates all over America, it’s out of control and yet Donald Trump is almost acting like an ostrich.

“Head in the sand pretending it’s not happening. It’s all happened on his watch. He is the president, he is accountable. Why should Americans vote for him?”

However, Harmeet was quick to snap back, claiming: “Well there’s a lot of propaganda and untruth in your question Piers but in reality, our system of government is very different from your own.”

When Piers tried to challenge her on the alleged “untruth,” Harmeet refused to let him speak, as she continued to rant.

He shouted: “Hang on, excuse me, can you stop talking for a moment?”

While Harmeet continued talking, he then wondered: “Is there a problem with your hearing?”

Thankfully, as the interview drew to a close, Piers made it clear he had enjoyed the challenge, as he praised the panel.

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
