The Crown season 4 is finally on Netflix, but those who were hoping to see a dramatisation of Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ wedding will be disappointed.
Episode 3, titled Fairytale, ends with a dramatic build-up to the historic event – but cuts off just before the wedding.
What happened next in July 1981 was, in reality, watched by by more than 750million people around the world.
It drew crowds of more than 600,000 people to the streets surrounding St Paul’s Cathedral – so it’s more than understandable that there was some nervousness.
These nerves meant that there were some errors at the altar – with one in particular standing out.

Lady Diana Spencer reportedly said the wrong name when saying her wedding vows to Prince Charles.
The mix-up is quite understandable, considering she had to say Prince Charles Philip Arthur George.
Instead, Diana called him Prince Philip Charles.
A BBC article from the day put the error down to “wedding day nerves”.
The article explained: “Wedding day nerves were apparent during the ceremony. Diana mixed up the Prince’s names, calling him Philip Charles Arthur George, rather than Charles Philip.”

Meanwhile, her future husband made an error of his own, referring to “thy goods”, instead of “my worldly goods”, at another point in the vows.
They also forgot to kiss after exchanging vows, but instead kissed on the public balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Diana was just 20 when she became the Princess of Wales, and told Andrew Morton in her biography: “I remember being so in love with my husband that I couldn’t take my eyes off him.
“I just absolutely thought I was the luckiest girl in the world. He was going to look after me.
“Well, was I wrong on that assumption.”
