A memorial will be held to honour late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman today after he died from colon cancer.
Chadwick died aged 43 after a secret four-year battle with cancer, with the news announced on August 29.
A memorial event will be held in South Carolina on Thursday (September 3).
Deanna Brown-Thomas, the daughter of late Godfather of Soul James Brown, will help honour the Marvel star, according to reports.
Brown-Thomas will speak at a tribute event in Anderson, South Carolina, where she is expected to thank Boseman for his iconic portrayal of her father in the 2014 Brown biopic Get On Up.

Thursday’s event, ‘Honoring the Life of Anderson’s Own Chadwick Bosemsan’, at the Anderson Civic Center will also include words from Mayor Terence Roberts, as well as a prayer service and a screening of Boseman’s legendary Marvel movie Black Panther.
A spokesperson for the Brown estate confirmed to publication Billboard that Brown-Thomas will be one of the featured speakers at the event.
Brown-Thomas, who is the president of the James Brown Family Foundation, joined her family in paying tribute to Boseman over the weekend in a statement.

She said: “On behalf of the family of Godfather of Soul, Mr. James Brown and the James Brown Family Foundation, we send our deepest condolences to our brother in spirit Chadwick Boseman’s family and fans.
“We are at a lost of words at the moment. Chadwick did our dad justice in the film and it was a joy to work with him during our New York, Atlanta and Augusta movie premiere of the film.”
The final tweet shared to Chadwick Boseman’s Twitter account announcing the news of his dead is now the most-liked tweet of all time.
The tweet detailed Boseman’s cancer diagnosis and a statement from the actor’s family.
