This Morning host Eamonn Holmes apologised to a Spin To Win player today after he misheard his password earlier in the show.
Viewers were left raging after the contestant, named Lee, phoned in to play, but Eamonn wouldn’t let him take part as he though he’d said ‘good evening’ instead of the passcode ‘bees knees’.
After fans were outraged, Eamonn realised his error and the show brought Lee back to play again, and the This Morning host apologised.
Eamonn let fans know they would let Lee play again, tweeting to his 1m followers: “Spin to Win update on #thismorning….. VAR has intervened . Lee’s password will stand! Coming up now.”

The television presenter’s apology came after fans flooded Twitter with angry tweets.
One said: “The first guy on Spin to Win definitely said the pass phrase. @EamonnHolmes @RuthieeL how did that sound like “Good evening” ?
“We reminded it several times. Poor guy, I think they should ring him back and let him have a go!”

While another wrote: “Huge controversy going on about the first contestant saying the correct password. I definitely don’t think he would have said “Good evening” (as was thought) at this time of day.”
“When the 1st caller on spin to win clearly said the pass phrase. #spintowin And they move on, mean!!! And the winner wasn’t even watching!!!” moaned a third.
Also during Spin To Win, another called left Eamonn and Ruth red-faced as she thought they were Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Things turned cringeworthy during the competition as the caller didn’t realise it was Eamonn and Ruth, as she yelled: “Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m talking to Phil and Holly!”
Eamonn quickly corrected the viewer, before she quickly said: “I can’t believe I’m speaking to Eamonn and Ruth.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
