EastEnders viewers were left gobsmacked on Monday when Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) told Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) that she thinks he’s her dad.
The bombshell has drawn speculation from fans that Mick was abused when he was a youngster which led to him fathering a child.
Viewers know that Mick has been in a relationship with Linda (Kellie Bright) since they were youngsters.
So if Mick did cheat on his beloved wife, could Frankie be the result of secret abuse?
EastEnders fans have rushed to their keyboards to predict that there is more to Frankie being Mick’s long-lost daughter.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Mick being Frankie’s dad feels like that EastEnders will touch into Mick being abused when he was a child and the woman will be Frankie’s mum. The reaction he had to her name said a lot.”
Another guessed: “I reckon Frankie’s mom was a lot older than Mick.”
A third posted: “There has to be more to this storyline with Mick surely.”
A fourth said: “There are a lot of rumours flying around about that how Mick was abused when he was in care and how he did not know that Frankie existed.”
“I’m still going with Mick was abused in care and it resulted in a child,” said a fifth person.
Mick was horrified when Frankie took his youngest child Ollie to the park during Monday’s episode.
He has been concerned about her obsessive behaviour after she took photos of the family and has been asking questions about them.
As he confronted her, Mick told Frankie that it was sad she lost a brother but she can’t latch onto their family.
As Mick walked away, Frankie told him he is family – as he could be her dad.
During Tuesday’s episode, Frankie revealed that her mum was “Katy Lewis” and the name struck a chord with Mick.
He stumbled away with little Ollie without responding to a confused Frankie.
Mick returned to the flat he shares with Linda but there night was interrupted Frankie who refused to take no for an answer.
“I don’t want to stress you out, and I won’t tell Linda anything,” Frankie promised.
“I can’t just leave it. You’re my dad. I spent my whole life not knowing you, and now I found you. I’m not letting go.”
Mick nodded in resignation, though he seemingly had major reservations over opening up the door.
Will Frankie manage to get the truth out of Mick?
