Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard was left feeling awkward on today’s show when a newsreader ignored one of his questions.
The 45-year-old ITV star was joined by correspondent Jonathan Swain on the show, discussing the reopening of cinemas up and down the UK following the nationwide lockdown.
Cinemas in England can reopen from July 4, the government has confirmed, with a number of social distancing measures in place.
Filming a segment from a newly reopened Vue cinema, Jonathan could be seen munching on popcorn as he sat in the middle of an empty screen.
However, things took an awkward turn when Ben tried to quiz Jonathan about the release of upcoming films – only to be met by absolute silence.

Trying to laugh off the dismissal, Ben said: “He’s getting stuck into his popcorn, he’s not interested any more.”
Susanna Reid was quick to wrap up the interview, determined to swerve any more awkward moments on the show.
She declared: “Jonathan Swain…”

Making light of the exchange, Ben then started bantering about the cinema experience, insisting he preferred an empty cinema.
Susanna quipped: “This is your ideal cinema experience.”
Ben joked that his children – Sam, 13, and Jack, 15 – tended to steal his popcorn during the movie, feigning annoyance.

He said: “If they could just make it that my children couldn’t sit next to me either because I wouldn’t have to share my popcorn.”
Susanna exclaimed: “Buy them their own popcorn!”
Scoffing, Ben replied: “They can buy their own popcorn but they just nick mine!”
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV
