Hollyoaks favourite Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) gave birth to a little girl during Wednesday’s E4 first-look episode.
The Channel 4 soap is known for making history, and it done it again this evening as it aired its first socially-distanced birth scene.
Liberty asked baby daddy Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward) to join in an anti-natal session during last night’s episode.
However, the experience sparked a reminded of his abuser Buster Smith (Nathan Sussex) and he stormed out of the flat.
Liberty was determined to ensure Brody was okay and went to look for him but things took a dramatic turn when she went into labour as she approached Cunningham’s Grande Bazaar.
In tonight’s episode, Liberty is helped into The Hutch as an ambulance couldn’t make it to the village due to an road accident.
Eagled-eyed viewers couldn’t help but wonder why Liberty wasn’t assisted to the nearby village hospital, which is believed to be within walking distance.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “I don’t know why the really need an ambulance on Hollyoaks isn’t the hospital only yards away in the village?”
Another added: “I swear they live right by the hospital.”
A third penned: “Walk her to the hospital, you’re only a minute away. B****y waste of an ambulance!”
“Don’t know what all the fuss is about. I swear the hospital is just around the corner?,” a fifth fan moaned.
While a sixth said: “I don’t know why the really need an ambulance on Hollyoaks isn’t the hospital only yards away in the village?”
Nurse Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) was worried that there might be complications with the birth during the dramatic scene.
However, in spite of her fears, Liberty delivered a baby girl — with proud parents Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Brody by her side.
Liberty eventually ended up going to the hospital and the little one underwent some tests.
Liberty agreed to become a surrogate mother in order for her sister Sienna and Brody to have a baby earlier this year.
Will the family get their happy ever after?
Brody was heartbroken tonight as he nearly missed the birth of his daughter.
He told Sienna that he regretted storming out from Liberty’s anti-natal class.
Hollyoaks airs Monday to Thursday at Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by a first look episode on E4 at 7pm
