Jack Whitehall mistakes Harry Styles' sister for his girlfriend in awkward BRITs blunder

Jack Whitehall made an awkward blunder while presenting the BRIT Awards tonight, as he mistook Harry Styles’ sister for his girlfriend.

It all kicked off when the 31-year-old host left the stage to sit next to Harry, quizzing him about his solo career.

Teasing his love life, he remarked: “The ladies go crazy for Mr Harry Styles!

“I don’t want to pry have you brought someone with you tonight?”

Gesturing to the woman sitting beside Harry, he asked: “Is one of these your date?”

Deadpan, Harry replied: “It’s my sister.”

Gemma Styles, older sister to the former X Factor star, had joined her little brother as a show of support during the ceremony.

As soon as he realised the blunder he had made, Jack turned red-faced, attempting to apologise for the misunderstanding.

He said: “That’s great. It’s nice. Keep it in the family. I brought my mum with me!”

Harry quickly turned the conversation around and asked after Jack’s mum Hilary.

The funnyman replied: “Hilary? She’s good. She’s over there, probably throwing herself at Rod Stewart.”

Over on Twitter, fans alternated between cracking up and cringing over the encounter with Harry’s big sis.

One viewer remarked: “That’s my sister’ FUNNIEST THING EVER.”

A second added: “Harry’s sister looks impressed…”

While a third chipped in: “Some serious eye-rolling from Harry Styles’ sister there. She is NOT here for this.”

The former One Direction star was nominated for two awards on the night but left the star-studded ceremony empty-handed.

Harry received a nomination for The Best 2020 Male Solo Artist, but Lewis Capaldi beat him to the punch.

Later, he was beaten at the final hurdle yet again in The Album of the Year category, as Dave claimed the top spot with Psychodrama.
