With the death of Adam Schlesinger who lost his battle with coronavirus yesterday, we glance back at the hit that rocketed him to fame.
17 years ago Fountain of Wayne stormed the charts with the track ‘Stacy’s Mom’ that surged across the globe.
It was the addictive song that no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t help but sing.
Although it wasn’t just the catchy lyrics that demanded attention from spectators but the hilarious video that illustrated the story of teenage boys who were wild with desire for the more mature woman.
Cast your mind back to 2003, when New Zealand supermodel Rachel Hunter, now 48, stripped off in the music video while her daughter’s friends drooled over her.

Sadly for Stacy, her school crush was less interested in her but more ore stricken with her insanely hot mother.
But what happened to the teenage girl who played besotted Stacy in the music video who just couldn’t catch her crush’s attention despite her best efforts?
Now 28 years of age, the blonde beauty better devotes her time to her love of all things art.
The Stacy’s mom actress, Gianna Dispenza is all grown up and living in Beirut, Lebanon where she displays her artistic creations.

It would seem that the starlet had given up on her acting career a long time ago, this in order to pursue her passion in paint and sculpture.
In her own spare time, Gianna had also selfishly volunteered at centre to support refugee children.
Gianna’s identity was rediscovered recently following the death of Adam Schlesinger, band member of Fountains of Wayne and co-writer of the hit anthem Stacy’s mom.
A spokesperson for the hitmaker revealed to TMZ that the star had died, aged 52, on Wednesday after battling coronavirus.
Schlesinger’s girlfriend had previously revealed how the talented musician had been on a ventilator and was in a critical condition.
She said he “has been sedated to facilitate his recovery… but his condition is improving slightly and we are cautiously optimistic.”
Adam was divorced and is survived by two daughters.
Fans have now taken to Gianna’s Instagram page to leave tributes to the late star.
One wrote: “Sad news about Adam Schlesinger. I’m sorry.”
While another added: “RIP Adam Schlesinger. Love your art.”
A third chimed in: “Came here because Reddit just told me you were Stacy from the “Stacy’s Mom” video. I was already following because of your art and had no idea. RIP Adam Schlesinger. Everyone be well.”
