Starring Flesh and Blood actor Russell, The Sister is based on Luther creator Neil Cross’ book, Burial.

The four hour-long episodes follow the story of Tovey’s character Nathan who is literally being haunted by his past.

It kicks off with a figure from his past, a creepy man called Bob, arriving at his home to tell him that builders are digging up a forest from their past – something which majorly stresses Nathan out.

Fans were then given a bit more information, learning that the pair’s tension has something to do with a girl called Elsie’s disappearance.

Towards the end of the episode spooked fans were left even more frightened when ghosts started appearing in the show.

One tweeted: “A ghost oh FFS that’s the end of that #TheSister.”

The Sister continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
