Amanda Holden couldn’t hold back her amazement when Alan Carr explained he was outed by a ghost.
Amanda and Alan appeared on the show DNA Journey where they traced their ancestry to Cornwall together.
While on the show Alan revealed that he and his mum dabbled in the occult which resulted in him being outed.
He told Amanda: “Me and my mum used to do the Ouija board. Don’t do it!”
“You know I got outed by a Ouija board?” Alan then went on.
He explained: “I was doing it with my mum, I wasn’t out yet…she got a message from my dad’s friend, called Sinbad, that went ‘H-O-M-O-S-E-‘, homosexual!
“I went, bye!”
Amanda went on to suggest his mum had set it up because she already knew her son was gay.
ITV have dubbed the show “the ultimate road trip with their best mate at their side”.
“That’s what makes the show really work, having the two people in it,” Amanda said.
Amanda also said she was “desperate” to find a familial link between her and Alan after Ant and Dec previously discovered they were related.
Alan quipped: “I wasn’t so desperate.”
However, the show was nearly derailed by the actions of Alan’s Red Setter, Bev.
Prior to filming the naughty pooch got hold of the DNA testing kit and slobbered all over it.
“It fell on the floor and Bev bit it for a second,” Alan admitted.
“I was really worried I was going to end up at some kennel club. When we turned up at Crufts, I was a little surprised to meet my family.”
Amanda joked: “I thought you were going to be traced back to a wolf – or related to Kevin Costner in Dances with Wolves.”
Writing about the upcoming episode Amanda posted: “I don’t know what the best part of this show was, finding out my family history or the non-stop cackling with my darling Alan Carr.”
