Coronation Street fans were left doing a double-take when they tuned in to Wednesday evening’s episode, clocking Carla Connor’s stylish new hairdo.
The factory boss, played by Alison King, is due to marry her long-term love Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) in upcoming scenes.
Ahead of their special day, the sweethearts caught up in the living room, chatting about podcasts before Carla headed to work.
While the attention has been on Peter and his health battle in recent months, it was Carla’s hair that got viewers talking this evening.
Taking to Twitter, soap fans gushed over her silky barnet, which had been chopped into layers and expertly blown out.
One fan said: “What has Carla done with her hair? Looks nice!”
“Carla looks fantastic New hair doo,” wrote a second.
And a third smitten viewer remarked: “AND CARLA CONNOR’S HAIR LOOKS UNBELIEVABLE.”
After some flirty chit-chat with her husband-to-be, Carla headed straight to the Underworld factory, where she was instantly buried under a mound of work.
Watching the clock, she told Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) she was unable to work late, with Peter’s health taking precedence over her job.
Hanging up the phone, she rushed out to pick up his prescription, hoping to nurse her fiancé back to full health.

While climbing into the wedding car, Peter stumbles, with his family wondering whether they should take him to the hospital instead.
