Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby who plays Summer Spellman in the ITV soap, has revealed her sweet on-set relationship with her co-stars.
Harriet, 23, joined the soap in 2020 following the departure of previous Summer Spellman star Matilda Freeman, and has shared the screen with characters including Vicar Billy Mayhew and Todd Grimshaw.
She described that their time on screen together has led to a close relationship on set too, telling OK! Magazine: “My closest friends are Dan [Brocklebank, who plays Billy Mayhew] and Gareth [Pierce, who plays Todd Grimshaw], who I work a lot with.”
In the past year, her character has been involved with heartbreaking storylines in the soap, including the death of her adoptive father Drew Spellman.
Following his death, Vicar Billy took her into his care, and she was looked after by him and Billy’s ex Todd.
Harriet’s character Summer is now involved in another story line in the soap, which has seen Summer develop a crush on teacher Daniel Osbourne.
Off-set, Dan Brocklebank who plays Billy, has even shared some sweet snaps of the trio spending time together, showing that their bond continues away from the cobbles too.
In one of the photos, they can be seen relaxing together at a picnic table, while smiling at the camera.
This is just one of a number of co-star bonds that Harriet has with the Coronation Street cast.
She also added that she is close to Bernie actress Jane Hazelgrove, saying: “We get on really, really well and she’s really funny.”
On set Harriet said that Roy Cropper actor David Neilson is also very funny, saying: “he just comes out with some funny things.
“When he won a TV award recently, he said he was going to put it in the cafe to remind the younger actors to up their game. I thought it was hilarious!”
