EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas admitted to hospital with mystery illness

EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas is facing a worrisome wait as he is yet to learn what the mystery illness is he’s been battling.

The 32-year-old soap hunk was rushed to hospital and doctors could only determine that there was something wrong with his liver.

An anxious Matt is undergoing tests at St Peter’s hospital in Chertsey, Surrey as medical staff try and ascertain what is wrong with him.

Matt, who played Anthony Moon on the long-running BBC soap, shared a picture of his “urgent referral” card and a cannula in his arm.

Taking to his Instagram story, Matt shared he was back home again, as he thanked fans for the

ir support.

He said: “I’m back home now with further tests tomorrow and Saturday.

“Basically, I have something wrong with my liver and it needs looking into.

“I feel better than I have done the last few weeks but maybe it’s a delayed effect.”

A disappointed Matt declared he was disappointed as it means he won’t have the ultimate football Sunday.

Matt Lapinskas skyrocketed to fame when he appeared on EastEnders

Matt was due to play in a charity game in Leicester to honour a local soldier who died in 2007.

In April 2007, Chris Gray was shot and killed at the age of 19 during his first tour in Afghanistan.

The football Celeb FC, which is fundraising in Chris’s honour, will join the late soldier’s best friend Dan Exton and other local lads in the charity match on Sunday.

Matt is undergoing some medical tests to determine what’s wrong with him

It will be kicking off ahead of the England v Italy Euro final, which is taking place on Sunday evening.

Dan told Leicestershire Live: “We weren’t able to do anything last year because of Covid but this year it’s back and I just want people to come down and share memorial of Chris and have a laugh and a cry.”

Celeb FC was founded in 2013, and the team has since attended multiple charity events around the world.
