GMB's Katy Rickitt admits she won't miss early mornings as she leaves show

Katy Rickitt has revealed that there are some parts of her Good Morning Britain job that she “won’t miss”.

The 37-year-old GMB presenter, who is wife to former Hollyoaks star Adam Rickitt, took to Instagram to speak out on her time at the ITV breakfast programme.

The star has been a news correspondent for GMB after joining ITV in 2008.

Posting a smiling photo which saw her donning a nice blue puffer jacket by a river, Katy wrote: “Finally got to see @peteonsound and work dad Geoff.

“Beautiful pub sadly constantly battling flooding… Yes it was freezing and windy this morning.”

One fan commented: “Nice lay in next week Katy, roll on 6pm Monday to see you on Calendar. Have a nice day.”

“Aside from ditching fishing waders for frocks, more importantly, it is a real honour and privilege to present a show I grew up watching and to be entrusted to relay all the daily hard work of a really incredible team to a county I’ll always call home.”

Katy went on: “For some of you it’ll mean seeing more of me, for some of you less for a while (you may need a break!) but I’ll share a link on here incase you want to tune in from outside.

“There are so many issues we’ll be addressing that spread far and wide.

“I hope you’ll join me in my final hurtle around the country of 2021 next week on @gmb, I’ll really miss the team there except when they’re waking me up in the early hours!”

Katy thanked everyone for their support, and finished by declaring that she was on her way to Yorkshire.

Katy has been married to former Corrie star Adam since the pair tied the knot in 2014 – and the pair currently reside in Cheshire.
