Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley left viewers stunned after he called for a boycott on all products manufactured in China to tackle the ongoing climate crisis.
The outspoken presenter talked candidly to co-host Ranvir Singh about Boris Johnson’s latest comments on recycling being a “red herring”.
However, as the presenters divulged into the conversation, Richard suggested that Brits should snub Chinese products altogether.
He also criticised online service Amazon for failing to include the country of origin on many of their products that are sold on the platform.
But spectators were unimpressed and slammed the broadcaster for his opinions.
One social networker said: “Dear Richard Madeley. All the TV’s that you’re being watched on have probably been made in china you bonehead.”

While another continued: “The most ridiculous comment this morning, GMB viewers ban China’s good’s. Sure China’s president panicking!”
“Omg! You think because they sell the same product in China the one you bought here wasn’t made there? Are you a moron? #RichardMadeley #gmb idiots! Go back to ugly jealous women b****ing about pretty girls,” a third said.

Richard’s proposition came after China leader Xi Jinping’s expected absence at the upcoming COP26 conference.
The climate summit, which will run from October 31 to November 12, will see several world leaders come together to discuss new targets to hopefully reduce global emissions.
On Tuesday morning’s programme GMB’s Richard suggested Britons have an individual responsibility to reduce their own personal waste.

Later on in the show, the GMB host spoke candidly to environmental scientist Angela Terry and environmental campaigner Natalie Fée.
Although the experts both explained that avoiding plastics altogether and not just items that are produced in China, would be more helpful, Richard claimed calls for a boycott were still gaining traction online.
He said: “We are still getting lots of messages from our viewers; they are boycotting Chinese goods wherever they can. Whenever they can do that.
“It would have to be more than just Britain doing that, but do you think that maybe could be emerging people power to affect China’s view?”
