Holby City's Madge actress dated EastEnders legend Larry Lamb for two decades

Actor and radio presenter Larry Lamb has lead an extraordinary career and is most remembered by fans for his roles in BBC’s EastEnders and Gavin and Stacey.

The star has also appeared in reality shows such as I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and Britain By Bike With Larry and George Lamb.

But although fans know him for his loveable on screen personality, several fans may be totally unware of his previous relationship with British TV royalty.

Larry, 73, was once in a relationship with new Holby City star Clare Burt from 1996-2016.

Clare, who parted ways from Larry five years ago, made her debut appearance on the hospital drama on Tuesday night playing Madge Britton.

Larry and Clare share two daughters together but ended their long-term relationship after twenty years together.

Actor Larry was already married twice before he met Clare and has four children in total.

In December 2016, it was revealed that Larry was dating “lovely new lady” Marie Victorine, who greeted him after his stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

Publication Daily Mail also claimed at the time that Larry had already secretly split from Clare and was dating artist Marie since 2014.

Marie also comes from a theatrical background and is the granddaughter of legendary Les Miserables writer Victor Hugo.

Talking about his relationship to Express.co.uk in 2018, Larry said: “It’s simply luck. We had a mutual friend and someone introduced us – it’s as simple as that. It’s real luck that somebody does that for you.”

As well as playing new character Madge Britton in Holby City, mother-of-two Clare has previously starred in The Bill, Top Boy, and even Friday Night Dinner playing Dr Stuart last year.

She has also previously starred in Holby City in 2004 and 2016 playing minor roles.

Whereas Larry will be remembered by soap fans for his villainous character in EastEnders playing Archie Mitchell.

Though he only had a short run in Albert Square, Archie caused havoc starring as Ronnie and Roxy’s father and Peggy Mitchell’s husband.

Archie’s criminal antics lead to his murder in 2009, which had several viewers across Britain wondering who killed him.

The twisted storyline came to an end when viewers discovered Stacey Slater had murdered Archie due to the fact that he caused her to be sectioned after he raped her.
