I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Naughty Boy left fans in hysterics after chatting football positions with French sporting icon David Ginola.
During the chat, the 40-year-old music producer admitted to David that he’d always take on the role of the “extra goalkeeper”.
Leaving David totally puzzled, the hitmaker went on to explain that he used to stand behind the goal for this role when he was playing football.
He told the French superstar: “When I was a kid they used to make me, not the goalkeeper, they used to make me stand behind the goal for the extra goalkeeper.”
He later asked: “That is a place, isn’t it? That’s an actual role isn’t it?”
David remarked: “It doesn’t exist in football, but… they invent a role for him in football… behind the goal, to collect the ball.”
Laughing, Emmerdale star Danny Miller joked: “That’s usually the ball boy.”
Speaking in the Telegraph, no nonsense David explained: “Naughty Boy’s knowledge about the beautiful game needs to be improved or re-assessed or something.”
He added: “‘My position on the football pitch was behind the goal…’ I don’t get this. I’m still not getting this.”
Naughty Boy insisted to his fellow campers that he was “the real goalkeeper” which sparked even more debate between them.
David quipped: “Behind the goalkeeper… behind the stadium… he was in the street, just in case.”
Danny chirped in to ask: “You didn’t have a high-vis on did you?”
Having a chat about the football discussion in the Telegraph, Naughty Boy said: “The important thing is I felt important.
“Any kid out there who’s been made the keeper of the goalkeeper, you will thrive and you can be anything you want.”
Taking to Twitter to discuss Naughty Boy’s hilarious moment, one fan penned: “Not Naughty Boy telling David that his role whilst playing football is to stand behind the goal…BEHIND THE GOAL.”
Another added: “Naughty Boy pretending to understand football to impress his campmates haha.”
While a third person posted: “Naughty boy thinking he knows more about football than David Ginola bless.”
