ITV viewers took to Twitter in their masses to hail I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for roasting Boris Johnson on Wednesday’s programme.
The two presenters, both 46, couldn’t resist poking fun of the British Prime Minister during a hilarious discussion about Christmas parties.
Ant said: “David’s reign is over but they [the celebrities] won’t celebrate.”
He insisted: “They didn’t have a party. They categorically deny any suggestions that they had a party.
“And this fictional ‘party’ definitely didn’t involve cheese and wine or a secret Santa.”
Dec chirped in: “Evening Prime Minister… for now,” while making a gesture as if to say “we’re watching you”.
Gobsmacked fans took to social media to hail the dynamic duo for calling out the Conservative Party over claims they’d had a Christmas party last year in the mid of the Covid-19 pandemic.
One tweet read: “LMAO Ant and Dec #imaceleb,” another online user quipped: “Ant and Dec constantly s***ing on the Tories lol #imaceleb.”
A third person remarked: “LMAO Ant and Dec roasting the Torries #ImACeleb.”
While others laughed at Dec having no shame with directing the joke straight at Boris.
“Evening prime minister from @antanddec gets me every time #ImACeleb,” exclaimed one.
“Boris at home watching i’m a celeb #ImACeleb #eveningprimeminister brilliant,” wrote a second.
The hysterical swipe comes hours after footage was released of the Prime Minister’s former press secretary Allegra Stratton answering questions at a mock press conference back in December 2020.
Allegra was quizzed over claims about a Torrie Christmas party that allegedly took place at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic last year.
At the rehearsal, Ed Oldfield, a special adviser to Mr Johnson, asked: “I’ve just seen reports on Twitter that there was a Downing Street Christmas party on Friday night, do you recognise those reports?”
Ms Stratton responded “I went home” before the pair began discussing whether there had been “cheese and wine” at the event.
She added: “This fictional party was a business meeting … and it was not socially distanced.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow on ITV at 9pm.
