John Barrowman 'axed from Dancing on Ice after inappropriate behaviour claims'

Television star John Barrowman has allegedly been axed from Dancing on Ice, The Sun reported.

John, who sits on the show’s judging panel, faced allegations earlier this month that he exposed himself on the set of BBC’s Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood.

Amid calls for him to be sacked from Dancing on Ice, Barrowman apologised in response to the allegations, claiming it was high-spirited behaviour and tomfoolery”.

He told the Guardian: “With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologised for this previously. Since my apology in November 2008, my understanding and behaviour have also changed.”

John Barrowman said it was “tomfoolery”

“But the feeling now is there is no way we can invite him back. ITV has shown they are prepared to act decisively when stars are accused of inappropriate behaviour. And it seems this situation will not be the exception to the rule.”

An ITV spokesperson told Daily Star: “Any discussions regarding the 2022 series of Dancing on Ice are very premature. Production has yet to commence.”

Daily Star has also contacted John Barrowman’s spokeswoman for comment.

Barrowman was accused of “repeatedly exposing himself” on set and was reprimanded for his behaviour.

Two former runners came forward to make the allegations about Barrowman

Two former Torchwood runners alleged that while on set, Barrowman “would get his genitals out on a regular basis,” although insisted it was “larking about” and not behaviour of a sexually predatory nature.

One of the runners who came forward claimed to the Guardian: “Sometimes he’d call me into his dressing room, and I would knock on the door and he’d say, ‘Oh, look at this’, and he’d just have his willy out, standing in the doorway. It was kind of accepted that it was his thing.”

Barrowman apologised in 2001 for undoing his trousers on BBC Radio 1’s The Switch, which was hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac.
