Love Island’s Jake Cornish has decided to take his romance once step further with blonde beauty Liberty Poole as he asks her to be his girlfriend.
The duo have been coupled up since they first entered the villa and have been going from strength to strength ever since.
Despite Jake admitting he wanted to get to know other people, it looks like the hunk has turned it around as the pair become the first duo in the villa to take the next step.
Although Liberty’s decision is yet to be revealed, she has certainly made it clear that she is interested in the gym-buff.
Jake admitted to the guys that he was ready to take the plunge and put a label on their romance and so enlists the lads for help in planning a surprise dinner for the beauty.
As they sit down, the duo were serenaded by Hugo and Liam, which sees Liberty joke: “Is this the sort of treatment I’ll be getting every night?”
With the help of other islanders, Jake had a lovely meal ready for Liberty, with Millie and Liam bringing over a spaghetti bolognese while Faye and Teddy followed after with dessert.
As the pair went over to the bean bags after their meal, Jake says: “I wanted to bring you here and just say how happy you make me to be honest.”
Liberty adds: “I’ve never connected with someone the way I have with you, ever. All cards on the table, I don’t think I really knew what love was until I met you.”
Jake replies: “I feel like I’ve found the one, will you be my girlfriend?”
If Liberty says yes – which would come just after she dropped the L-bomb – it will make the pair the first official couple in the villa, though it’s likely to take place just prior to Casa Amor.
The challenge of Casa Amor is expected to come imminently as the couples prepare for their biggest challenge of the series.
Their budding romance comes after Liberty revealed that she and Jake had been getting a little frisky in the bedroom, admitting that by her standards with the girls, she had reached NVQ1, while Jake had reached NVQ2.
Liberty and Jake appear happier than ever together, so fans are likely rooting for the duo to work through Casa Amor, and if they do, they have a strong shot at splitting £50k.
Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
