Alison Hammond has defended Meghan Markle from fresh criticism after the Duchess of Sussex decided not to share a picture of Archie’s face during Friday’s edition of This Morning.
The former Big Brother contestant gave her take on the online row that is taking hold of social media – admitting she thinks it’s all a storm in a teacup.
Some fans of the couple are annoyed that they decided not to show Archie’s face in the annual photo, unlike most birthday snaps released by the royals.
While Harry and Meghan did reveal a new image, it was taken from behind OF their son.
Co-hosting Friday’s show with Dermot O’Leary, Alison said: “The post is lovely.

“We’ve seen his [Archie’s] face before.
“Do you think it’s an issue?
“We are seeing his back and he’s holding up balloons.
“There is a lovely message to the world which we are all invited to sport cover awareness around the world.
“Isn’t it just a nice photo?”
The image is thought to have been taken in the garden of Harry and Meghan’s sprawling Californian home.

Last week Meghan and Harry’s infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey reentered the spotlight after Discovery+ aired a special about the tell-all.
During the hour show, Meghan and Harry’s body language and mannerisms were examined by a series of professionals.
In now-notorious scenes, Meghan alleged to the world that her son Archie was not made a prince due to a change in protocol and she heavily hinted she believes it to be due to his mixed race heritage.

But in fact, as per the George V convention, the use of HRH titles only applies to children and grandchildren of the monarch.
As a great grandchild of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Archie would not be entitled to such a title at birth.
Taking about the comment, her Finding Freedom biographer Omid Scoobie accepted she made an error.
Omid said: “If we are only going by what Meghan said to Oprah and what the palace have said so far about the situation with Archie, perhaps one can assume that Meghan was wrong in her interpretation of it.”
Not stopping there, he quickly added: “But we also know that there is much more to this story that we don’t know about.”
