Nadia Sawalha has trolled her fans after sharing an “emotional” video about having to make a sacrifice in her marriage where she looks to be in tears.
The Loose Women regular, 56, took to social media and appeared to be breaking down in tears as she spoke about having to make a big compromise in her marriage, but all was not as it seemed.
It turns out poor Nadia was made to finally give in and watch the footie with her hubby Mark Adderley in the spoof clip.
She opened up to her fans: “It’s what a good marriage is about, isn’t it? It’s about compromise, so I’ve said that… I don’t even know how to say it.”
She put on her best acting face as she pretended to sob and cradle her face in her hands, breathing in what appeared to be some emotional scenes.
She continued with her spoof confession, saying: “It just goes against everything that I am.”
The star then hilariously announced that she had reluctantly “agreed to watch the football” with Mark, before bluntly declaring: “I f***ing hate football.”
Staying in her distraught-lady role, the ITV panelist then took the acting one step further and penned the caption: “Sorry for crying and swearing. I’m distraught, how will I get through it? I need your support.”
Nadia cheekily joked she had thought about resorting to “multiple snacks, booze or smoking” as a means to cope with watching the dreaded Euro 2020 game.
However, it looks like Nadia pranked her fans with the clip because they took the video very seriously – with many reaching out to support the star.
Her fellow presenter Davina McCall commented: “Oh my God, I was seriously worried.”
Hollyoaks star Denise Welch followed suit and said: “Luckily I married the one man in the UK who hates football as much as me.”
One fan then admitted: “Omg I was stressing at the beginning! Good luck!”
A second fan agreed: “You almost had me”.
And a third follower rallied in support of Nadia’s football-bashing and penned: “You are not alone, we all go through it! Can’t stand football but we got to do what we got to do!”
And a fourth wrote: “You couldn’t have picked a better one to watch! Maybe it will convert you,” to which Nadia responded and joked: “Pray for me!”
After seeing England beat Ukraine 4-0 and proceed to the semi-finals, Nadia then jokingly added that she would now “have to” sit through another game as England are on the road to the final on July 11.
Nadia and her producer husband Mark tied the knot in 2002 and recently celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary.
