Oprah Winfrey says she's Meghan and Harry daughter Lilibet's godmum 'by default'

Oprah Winfrey has addressed a rumour that says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will make her Lilibet’s godmother.

The 67-year-old American TV personality is close to the pair who recently welcomed their first daughter, Lilibet.

Downplaying rumours in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Oprah Winfrey said that she is godmother ‘by default’ because she is good friends with the family already.

“I don’t need to be a godmother, I’m a godmother by default,” Oprah said during the interview.

“I’m a neighbour, I’m a friend and all that, you probably need someone younger to be the godmother.”

Meghan, Harry and Oprah have remained close since she attended the Royal Wedding in May 2018.
