Paul Gascoigne has shown his arms in bandages after sustaining an injury on what is penned as Italy’s version of I’m A Celeb.
Doctors were forced to intervene and help Paul after a challenge went wrong while filming.
The Rangers, Newcastle and Tottenham hero is famous for becoming a household name in the European country during his three year spell with Lazio in the 90s.
Paul, 53, who has been openly discussing his past battles of alcohol addition and his unusual tattoos, had been capturing viewers’ hearts right up until his accident.
According to Italian outlet Leggo, Paul, also known as Gazza, is now at risk of having to leave the show for good due to his injury.
Gazza is said to have been taken away from the action after being “really hurt”, but there has yet to be any official follow-up over the severity of his shoulder injury following the reveal on the show.
On what happened, former Olympic swimmer and island presenter Massimiliano Rosolino told audiences: “Paul got really hurt.
“Fortunately, we have a team of extraordinary doctors, who promptly intervened.”
It comes after the star made waves on the show for his hunky James Bond transformation.
The football star channeled his inner 007 as he took a dip in the sea, while he showed off his many tattoos – and viewers at home were loving the views.
He bore a striking resemblance to James Bond’s Daniel Craig in the moment as he recreated the actor’s iconic smoulder as he came out of the ocean in Casino Royale.
The dad-of-three has also been busy showing off his collection of tattoos, including some on his chest and several on his arms.
Showing his emotional side, Gazza also had to wipe away tears on I’m A Celeb as his former bodyguard appeared as his mystery guest via a video link.
Giovanni Zeqireya was his security officer when he played for Italian club Lazio in the early 1990s.
