Piers Morgan claims Sharon Osbourne was 'bullied' as he brands Meghan a 'liar'

Piers Morgan has broken his silence following the news one of his best pals Sharon Osbourne has left CBS show, The Talk.

Sharon, 68, stepped down as host on Friday following criticism over defending pal Piers’ comments about Meghan Markle following her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Addressing his 7.9million Twitter followers, the former Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, said: “What’s happened to ⁦@MrsSOsbourne is an absolute disgrace that shames CBS.

“Bullied out of her job for defending me against an invented slur of racism because I don’t believe a liar. In tomorrow’s Mail on Sunday, I’ll tell MY truth about this woke cancel culture b***s***.”

CBS released a statement regarding Mrs O’s departure on Friday and said that the episode which saw Sharon clash with her fellow panelists was “upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home”.

The statement added that Sharon’s “behaviour toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace”.

The show was on an extended hiatus as The Talk bosses launched an investigation into claims of racism and inappropriate comments made by Sharon.

During the March 10 episode of The Talk, Sharon was questioned over her tweet, which saw her throw her support behind Piers.

In the tweet, Sharon said: “People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.”

Sharon’s co-star Sheryl Underwood asked her: “What would you say to people who say that, while you’re standing by your friend, it appears that you give validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree?”

Ozzy Osbourne’s wife responded and said she felt as if she were “about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is a racist”.

“How can I be racist about anybody?

“How can I be racist about anybody or anything in my life?”, Sharon questioned during a tense exchange.

Sharon later posted a statement on Twitter in which she apologised to “anyone of colour that I offended and/or to anyone that feels confused or let down by what I said.”

Piers Morgan fiercely defended his friend

She said she had “panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive & allowed my fear & horror of being accused of being racist” to take over.

“Please hear me when I say I do not condone racism, misogyny or bullying,” she added. “I should have been more specific about that in my tweet.”
