Siegfried and Roy magician Siegrid Fischbascher has died after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
The iconic Las Vegas performer, who was known for his jaw-dropping show containing tigers, was 81 years old when he passed away on Wednesday.
According to German news agency dpa, his death has been confirmed by his sister Dolore.
She said: “He was at home in Las Vegas.
“I could pray with him and tell him that I will always be with him in my heart.”
She added that after the call he ‘laid down and fell asleep’.

Earlier this month reports claims the German star was ‘terminally ill with pancreatic cancer’.
Local media claimed Fischbacher had a 12 hour operation to remove a malignant tumour.
They added that he was ‘released form a clinic at his own request’ and was being looked after by ‘two hospice workers’.
In July 2019, shortly before he turned 80, he underwent surgery for a suspected heart attack.
He told Bild newspaper: “”It was a narrow escape. My arteries were 95% blocked.”

Sadly, it has been claimed that Fischbacher had been unable to see family and friends due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
His Dolore, who lives as a nun, told German publication Bild: “I take my brother with me in every one of my prayers and I am deeply connected to him.”
Fischbacher’s death comes just months after his partner Roy Horn also passed away.
In May last year Roy died aged 75 after complications from Covid-19.
A statement at the time said: “Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend.
“From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried.
‘Roy was a fighter his whole life including during these final days. I give my heartfelt appreciation to the team of doctors, nurses and staff at Mountain View Hospital who worked heroically against this insidious virus that ultimately took Roy’s life.”

In 2003 Horn was left wheelchair bound and partially paralysed down once side after he was attacked by a 400lb Bengal tiger during a performance at The Mirage hotel-casino in Sin City.
He suffered severe neck injuries and loss of blood before a stroke.
The incident put an end to Siegfried & Roy’s longtime residency on the Las Vegas strip.

Fischbacher and Horn met in 1960 while working on a cruise ship.
At the time Horn worked as a pageboy while Fischbascher was a performer.
Following stints in Paris, Puerto Rico and Monte Carlo, they moved to Las Vegas ten years later.
It is reported after their show took off their were earning as much as $50 million a year.
