Stacey Solomon says she felt 'ashamed' of baby bump when she was pregnant at 17

Loose Women panelist Stacey Solomon has spoken candidly about feeling ashamed of her baby bump during her first pregnancy aged 17.

The 31-year-old star admitted on the ITV daytime show that she didn’t enjoy any of her three pregnancies and felt especially self-conscious carrying her elder son Zachary, 12.

Speaking on Monday’s episode of Loose Women, Stacey explained: “I adore my children, I loved giving birth and having babies. I would love to do it again.

“I don’t love being pregnant and I really hate saying that.

“It’s not because I’m ungrateful. I think about all those people who would give anything to be pregnant.

“It feels like something has taken over my body, I don’t have control any more and everyone is looking at me. The teenage mum looks were like…”

Stacey, who has recently got engaged to boyfriend Joe Swash, went on to add that rude stares she received from people when she was pregnant aged 17 still affect her now.

She continued: “I just remember feeling so ashamed.

“I know that sounds awful but when I was pregnant with Zach, all I felt the whole way through was shame. I looked like a baby as well. I looked about six.

“I think people just looked and were like, ‘ugh, why is she pregnant?’ Maybe it’s a bit of a trauma I just haven’t addressed.”

Former EastEnders actor Joe, 38, got down on one knee and asked Stacey to be his wife on Christmas Eve.

The couple have a son called Rex, one, while Stacey has Zachary and Leighton, eight, from a previously relationship and Joe has a 13-year-old son called Harry.

Stacey and Joe recently revealed that they will be getting married this year.

When a fan asked her about the nuptials she said: “I used to think I wanted to run away and elope, but after losing family members this year, I could not feel more opposite.

“One of the main reasons we’d love to get married as soon as we can is because there’s special people in our lives that will not be around forever.

“And I would do anything to share our day with them. Especially knowing already how much we will miss those that can’t be there.

“I’ve found me dream venue, we are just trying to see if the dates work and if it’s possible and I can’t wait to take you there with us when/if we are aloud.”
