Strictly Come Dancing fans are begging stand-in judge and West End star Cynthia Erivo to replace Shirley Ballas after she offered “honest” critique and scores.
Cynthia stepped in for Craig Revel Horwood after he tested positive for Covid-19 earlier on in the week, and fans were ecstatic.
Some fans were even questioning how the BBC managed to get the star of the new upcoming Wicked film to judge on the popular show.
Tom Fletcher and his professional partner Amy Dowden took to the floor to dance their Couple’s Choice dance to the heartbreak anthem On My Own from Les Misérables.
Dedicating the dance to his sister, Carrie Hope Fletcher, who performs on stage in the West End, Tom got tearful while discussing his dance.
Tom and Amy danced along to the emotional, well-known song and fans were more than impressed – but some of the judges weren’t.
Cynthia said that she wanted more heart and emotion from Tom.
Both Motsi and Shirley agreed, and think that Tom needs to let his emotions go like he did in the VT that was played before their performance.
Stand-in judge Cynthia gave the harshest score of a 7, while Motsi, Shirley and Anton all gave the couple an 8.
Tom and Amy scored a total of 31, with most fans agreeing with Cynthia’s ‘honest’ critique – although some thought it was ‘harsh’.
One fan took to Twitter to say: “Cynthia proving that you are allowed to give lower than an 8 if you genuinely thought the routine was lacking. Which the others did. I’m here for the more honest marking.”
Another said: “Can we get rid of Shirley & have Cynthia forever?”
Someone else wrote: “Cynthia has been the fairest judge so far! I like the feedback and scoring!”
A fourth penned: “Cynthia telling Tom she didn’t buy the emotion, let her stay forever.”
While a fifth said: “Honestly can Cynthia stay every week forget Anton or Bruno make Cynthia a judge.”
