The Chase’s Mark Labbett made quick work of the first contestant on Friday’s show – Suzanne, 46, was a training team manager from Leicestershire.
She didn’t have a great cash builder, and the Beast wasn’t being polite about it.
Burlesque loving Suzanne only got three questions right, and Mark offered £300 for the low offer, but he was brutal when it came to putting a high offer on the table.
Mark said: “This is one of the lowest high offers I’ve made in a long while but you were terrible… £18,000.”
Some fans were trying to defend Suzanne, saying “£3k ain’t the worst!”
However, others weren’t so sure: “She’s getting caught, isn’t she.”
It started well for the brunette beauty, as she got a question right about the fifth amendment.
Both Suzanne and the Beast then got a question wrong, and her hopes were raised.
Sadly for the quizzer, who said she would spend her prize on a bright red Mulberry handbag, a question about ghosts was her undoing.
Bradley asked: “The Grey Lady and the Fat Friar are ghosts that haunt which fictional school?”
The options were St Trinians, Harry Potter, and Mallory Towers.
She incorrectly guessed the answer as Mallory Towers, which should have been Harry Potter, and was eventually caught by the Beast.
Viewers weren’t surprised, and the Beast was left gloating about his victory.
The Beast laughed: “I promised you some training. So turn right, take 10 steps, careful off the edge, and then walk that way. It’s very simple.”
Bradley wasn’t happy, commiserating with Suzanne and saying grumpily: “I hate it when the first ones go home.”
The Beast was on a roll, as three contestants were also sent packing, apart from 22-year-old student Josie who made it through to the final.
Bradley called the face-off the Beauty and the Beast, and Josie earned £6k in the cash builder and successfully made it to the end.
He caught the student with 28 seconds to spare.
The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
