Angus Deayton will never tell all about his cocaine and prostitute scandal – even though it haunts him to this day.
The fired Have I Got News For You host, 66, added he won’t write a memoir as he couldn’t print his most “interesting or amusing stories” without dropping pals in it.
Angus said when asked if he wanted to detail what happened 20 years ago: “I don’t think anyone will ever find out what happened because it’s too long ago, so it’ll just go down in history as the way in which it’s always been regurgitated.

“I’m not going to start digging it all up again.”
He added he was “resigned” to never setting the record straight, despite it making him miserable.
Angus said: “It’s not something I’m particularly happy about, but I’ve had 20 years to get used to it.”
He said “the words annus horribilis didn’t really cover half of it” when he was the focus of drug and sex allegations in the summer of 2002.
The actor, who is currently playing fed-up widower Mitch in BBC Radio 4 sitcom Alone, said he no longer watched Have I Got News For You.
He added he’s now single after splitting from TV writer Lise Mayer, 64, but insisted he is “very happy”.
Angus also hosted Would I Lie to You? from 2007 to 2008 and was a regular cast member of One Foot in the Grave from 1990 until 2000.
He also played George Windsor in the series 8-10 of Waterloo Road.
The star began his career on Radio Active, a parody of British local radio stations broadcast on BBC Radio 4 between 1981 and 1987, which he co-wrote and performed.
