Carol Kirkwood said she was going to be booted out of Buckingham Palace on live TV.
The Scottish BBC star presented the weather live from the Buckingham Palace grounds on Wednesday’s BBC Breakfast (June 1) ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations which kick off later this week.
However, she joked she was going to be “escorted out” of the Queen’s iconic palace by royal security guards at any second during the broadcast.
Carol, 60, had just finished up her forecast from the idyllic palace gardens, where she stood on top of a giant water fountain to tell viewers about what conditions they can expect from the day.
Host Sally Nugent said it was her “favourite weather forecast of the morning” before co-host Jon Clark joked that Her Majesty could be watching Carol from her window.
Jon said: “I’m just imagining the Queen looking out of her window saying ‘what is that Carol Kirkwood doing in my garden?”
The weather star burst out laughing before she replied: “And I’m going to be escorted out any second now.”
Jon remarked: “I thought security were behind you earlier,” to which Carl quipped: “They’re actually behind the camera” before waving ‘hi!”‘.
Jon joked: “Go and hide, go and hide. You’re good at that!”
Sally kept giggling during the royal weather segment as she said: “That was brilliant! I knew she was there.”
Jon replied: “Bonkers. She’s having the time of her life.”
Earlier in the show, Carol revealed she’d met the Queen three times – and that the monarch had a “good sense of humour.”
Dishing on her meeting with the monarch, she said: “Three times. I’ve been honoured to meet the Queen three times, and she is a lovely lady as you always hear, she has a really good sense of humour.
The forecaster explained: “She’s just lovely,” and that she’s “very polite as well.”
Carol also admitted the royal made her feel “so relaxed and at ease” as many people are so nervous meeting her.
The Platinum Jubilee is set to honour 70 years of Her Majesty’s service to the country – with Brits enjoys a four-day weekend from Thursday.
