Dan Walker has spoken out about his old BBC Breakfast job just over a month after leaving the broadcaster.
The TV presenter left the BBC back in May for a job at rival station Channel 5, where he presents 5 News on week day afternoons from 5pm.
Dan has now opened up about the taxing nature of his BBC Breakfast role, which he occupied for six years.

The grueling job Dan and his co-stars setting their alarms for 3am every morning to enable them to go live to the nation from 6am until 9:15.
But it appears the early alarms took their toll on the Dan as he suffered a lack of sleep – there was one time he got than 24 hours of sleep some weeks.
Dan admitted there were times the lack of sleep “wasn’t healthy” and turned him into a “bit of a zombie”, although he spoke highly of his BBC tenure.
He said: “I never minded it when the alarm went off, you got a head-start on everyone else and I was getting up to do an amazing job.
“But it does turn you into a bit of a zombie. There was a fortnight once where I was doing other jobs, too, and getting fewer than 24 hours’ sleep per week.
He added: “That’s not healthy.”
Speaking to Radio Times, Dan explained he has got more energy since leaving the BBC.
He said: “I’ve got so much more energy, I feel unstoppable! I’m writing a book, and I do love cutting the grass.”
Dan also admitted his Channel 5 role has “a bit more flexibility” to it, but slammed the notion presenters like him were “shackled” at the BBC.
He said: “There’s a perception that you’re really shackled at the BBC and you can’t be yourself, but I’ve never been told I can’t say something.”
Dan said it was a “massive decision” for him to leave BBC Breakfast as he loved the morning programme and his team.

Dan gushed over his former BBC Breakfast co-star this week after it was announced Jon Kay would be the new regular presenter on the programme from Monday to Wednesday.
Walker took to Twitter and wrote: “Brilliant news. Congratulations @jonkay01” before adding: “Great bloke, top presenter and much loved by the #BBCBreakfast team.”
