Liberty Poole became the latest star to be eliminated from Dancing on Ice – but many fans weren’t happy with the result.
The former Love Island star landed in the bottom two with BMX star Kye Whyte – which meant they had to go head-to-head in the skate-off at the end of the show.
It came after the public vote was added to the judges’ scores.
Sunday’s show (February 13) had already proved difficult for Liberty as she suffered a tumble on the ice rink during her initial routine, although she bravely recovered.
Liberty ended up flat on her face after her pro skating partner Joe Johnson tried lifting her up in the air – and it went badly wrong.
She still scored a respectable 28 points out of a possible 40 for her rollercoaster routine to Flo Rider’s Right Round.
Kye, who is partnered up pro skater Tippy Packard, bagged 28.5 points for his skate to Muse’s Supermassive Black Hole.
The majority of the panel – Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill and Ashley Banjo – voted to save Liberty, but judge Oti Mabuse opted to keep Liberty in.
Many fans at home fumed at Liberty getting the boot as they felt she was a better skater than her co-stars like Happy Mondays star Bez, who made it to the next round.
Some viewers on Twitter even claimed they were going to give up on watching the show.
One fan said: “LIBERTY WAS ROBBED PASS IT ON”
A second commented: “What a joke why is liberty gone???!!!”
A third said: “Not watching anymore, Bez falls and is awful every show and he stays and Liberty falls and she’s out?”
A fourth fumed: “This show has been my guilty pleasure for ages, but I won’t be watching again until Bez has gone. To see better skaters in the skate off week after week makes a mockery of the whole thing.”
A fifth penned: “How’s Bez STILL IN the show I don’t know! Liberty was much better 2nd time round!!!”
Another commented: “#dancingonice is an absolute joke the fact that liberty did an incredible routine with one fall and is out and bez and sally are still in (and not even in the bottom two) baffles me let’s be honest it isn’t a skating show it’s a popularity contest”
The episode also saw show host Phillip Schofield reunited with his presenting pal Holly Willoughby.
Phil was forced to sit out from his usual hosting duties last week as he caught Covid, so Stephen Mulhern replaced him alongside Holly.
