From his major snub with a rival soap, child star fame and lavish trips off-camera, Daily Star has taken a look inside the actor’s life away from the cameras.

His career went from strength to strength when he became a child star on Nickelodeon and the Hertfordshire-born star hasn’t looked back since.

He told Tresa Magazine: “SHHH! is something that I am really proud to have worked on, the Comedy Central/Nickelodeon series was a silent comedy much like Mr Bean, which not only allowed it to be distributed worldwide, but meant that individuals who have hearing disabilities were able to submerse themselves into the world of TV Comedy which is something that is not done enough these days.

“Reinforcing how powerful the industry that we work in is, we are able to allow the less fortunate to escape reality and enjoy the world of TV, Film and Theatre.”

Despite finding his place as Sidin Hollyoaks, Billy also tried out for rival soap EastEnders – but was snubbed by the BBC series.

The audition took place after he was signed up to be a temporary character on Hollyoaks, but soon learned he was being brought in full-time.

“I actually auditioned for EastEnders. I auditioned for Bobby Beale. I’ve been for so many EastEnders auditions. They’re so lovely over there,” he previously told Digital Spy.

He continued: “I’ve been up for Bobby Beale and Hunter. I actually got quite far down into those auditions. I got quite far into the Bobby Beale – I think there was three others left.

“I didn’t actually get the part, as you do as an actor. You don’t get the part all the time.”

However, after learning he had landed a permanent role on Hollyoaks, Billy believed it was fate that he didn’t land a role in Albert Square.

“A couple of days after I didn’t get the part, I got a call from my agent saying: ‘They’re going to promote your Hollyoaks character to a regular’. I was over the moon. Everything happens for a reason,” he added.
