Inside Hollyoaks Jamie Lomas' life – pop star ex, soap star sibling and awards show spat

Hollyoaks bad boy Warren Fox is one of the most villainous characters in Soapland.

Since joining the Channel 4 soap back in 2006, the bad boy has been a part of some of the soap’s major storylines including faking his own death and murdering five villagers.

The character has left the soap three times, before permanently returning in 2020 with fans eagerly wondering what Warren will do next.

But did you know that before Hollyoaks, the TV personality had roles in other soaps and also has a famous soap star sibling?

Born on April 21, 1975 in Manchester, Jamie began his acting career in 2002 before joining Hollyoaks four years later.

He played Matt Evans in Brookside for seven episodes in 2002, a soap also made by Hollyoaks creator Phil Redmond.

Matt Evans was his first television role, before starring in Coronation Street from 2002 until 2004 in two different roles.

After featuring in Brookside and Coronation Street, Jamie starred alongside future Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy in the 2006 Hollywood film The Wind that shakes the barley..

The roles are also in addition to his other parts in television programmes including Heartbeat, Casualty and Dream Team

From 2013 until 2015, Jamie starred as Jake Stone in EastEnders, whose character became embroiled in the Who killed Lucy Beale storyline.

Away from the soaps, Jamie isn’t afraid of showcasing his skills on television, coming second in the 2017 series of I’m a Celebrity: Get me Out of Here! after losing out on the winning place to Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo.

He also has another soap connection too, as he was also previously married to Coronation Street actress and former Hear’Say singer Kym Marsh.

The couple began dating in 2008 and their son Archie was born in 2009, but died a few weeks later. They also have a daughter together.

Jamie and Kym divorced in 2014.

In August 2021, it was reported that Jamie was in a relationship with dentist Jess Bell, after meeting through friends.

Jamie also isn’t the only soap star in his family – his sister, Charley Webb, plays Debbie Dingle in ITV soap Emmerdale.

The actress recently posted a sweet throwback photo on social media of her and Lomas when they were younger.

Jamie also walked Charley down the aisle on her wedding day to fellow soap star Michael Wolfenden in 2018.

In 2019, the Hollyoaks actor found himself involved in a spat with former Emmerdale star Asan N’Jie at the TV Choice Awards.

Cameras caught the actors allegedly coming to blows at the event.

The Mirror reported at the time that Asan had threatened to attack Jamieat the event at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, and threw punches at him during the brawl.

It was not confirmed what led to the confrontation, which led to Emmerdale bosses letting Asan go following the incident.

Asan later said in a statement, “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.

“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.

“I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.”

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
