Jake Gyllenhaal says filming sex scenes with Jennifer Aniston were 'torture'

American actor Jake Gyllenhaal has confessed it was “torture” to film sex scenes with Jennifer Anniston.

The Hollywood star has admitted it felt “awkward” when filming the intimate scenes with the beauty when shooting for the 2002 comedy The Good Girl.

Jake joked during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show: “It was torture, yes it was, but it was also not torture. I mean, come on. It was like a mix of both.”

He explained to the host that he had a huge crush on the Friends star which made it more difficult to film.

The film followed two lovers who become bored in their dead-end jobs and end up having an affair.

He continued: “Weirdly, love scenes are awkward because there are maybe 30, 50 people watching.

“That doesn’t turn me on.”

“Most of the time, it’s oddly mechanical, right? And also it’s a dance, like, you choreograph it for a camera.

“It’s one of those like a fight scene, you gotta choreograph those things and I always have tried.”

Jake told host Howard that Jennifer had suggested they use a pillow to help them feel more comfortable during the racy scenes.

The actor said: “That was just pre-emptive and used generally always when actually in a horizontal place in that movie.

“I think that was actually a Jennifer suggestion, she was very kind to suggest it before we began.

“She was like, ‘I’m putting a pillow here’.”

The Donny Darko star also discussed his relationship with girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu and if wedding bells and children could be on the horizon.

Jake has been dating the French model since 2018 and said he wanted to “be a good husband and a father”.

The Oscar-nominated star added: “Now that I have fulfilled a lot of things in my career that I feel comfortable with, I can safely say that. I don’t know if I could have said that before.”

Jake said he was influenced into this way of thinking by his older sister and fellow Hollywood star Maggie Gyllenhaal.

She shares two daughters – Ramona, 16, and Gloria Ray, 10- with her husband Peter Sarsgaard.

Jack reckons her work has “deepened” since entering motherhood.
