Jimmy Carr has split social media once again over his controversial jokes.
The 49-year-old takes to the stage as part of The Best Of Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival special which sees some of the world’s biggest names in comedy perform stand-up routines under the banner of the streaming giant.
As part of the new show, the 8 Out of 10 Cats star tells new controversial jokes, just months after he previously caused a firestorm online when he previously joked about Travellers, Romany Gypsies and the Holocaust.

But social media has been engulfed in a new storm as the divisive star is now arguably pushing the limits of the genre and is dividing fans online.
In the latest comedy special the Your Face or Mine presenter started joking about One Direction and his heartbreak over Zayn’s decision to leave the boyband sensation.
But things took a darker turn when he compared the seismic pop event to the 2001 terrorist attack.
He joked: “When Zayn left One Direction, for me, it was like 9/11 — I didn’t care about that either,” before linking to a previous clip from his previous stand-up show, His Dark Materials.
The Big Fat Quiz of the Year star then jokes about the generational divide, with some members of the audience thinking “9/11, steady on”, whilst others were more bothered about One Direction.
But not before he went into even further detail with an open-ended punchline which left some of the hesitant audience with nervous laughter.
He explained: “I was actually supposed to be on one of the planes on 9/11, but the more interesting story is how I met Osama.”
The new special has fans in arms online slamming the comedian, whilst others defend his right to free speech.
One criticised the comedian as they wrote: “The late Barry Took once talked about second-rate comedians who built an early reputation based on outrage and foul language, but who were ultimately found out through lack of talent.”
But other fans were quick to defend the star, saying: “Imagine watching Jimmy Carr and having the audacity to convince yourself you suffer from Karenitis, faux outrage brigade. It’s Jimmy Carr he’s always been close to the edge.”
Another fan wrote: “So Jimmy Carr is in bother for another offensive joke. Folk need to get a grip, he’s a comedian.”
Whilst another said: “Comedy is subjective Don’t like, don’t watch/listen. It’s not difficult.”
