Sinitta and Britain’s Got Talent mogul Simon Cowell have had an on-off relationship that has spanned decades, but what about Simon’s now-girlfriend and mother to his son?
Lauren Silverman is a New York socialite, who rose to public prominence when she had an affair with Simon Cowell in 2013.
She and Sinitta were “best friends” at the time, meaning her new beau caused a bit of a rift between the pair considering Sinitta had an on-off love affair spanning three decades with Simon.
But Simon is now loved-up with Lauren, and her ex-husband Andrew filed for divorce when her pregnancy with baby Eric child was revealed, and it was reported that Simon was mentioned in the divorce papers – which were filed on the grounds of adultery.
Loved-up with Lauren
Simon first met Lauren when Andrew introduced them while the trio were in Barbados in 2006. Afterwards, Simon often joined the couple on holidays abroad.
The pair grew closer, which ultimately led to them having an affair. They got together again when Lauren and her husband separated and welcomed their first son, Eric on Valentine’s Day in 2014.
But before Simon and Lauren hit it off, Sinitta was a big part of the music mogul’s life.
Sizzling romance with Sinitta
Simon and Sinitta first met back in 1983, when she was supposedly 20 at the time. She became his first musical signing, and the rest has been history.
They then embarked on a 30-year love affair, filled with passion and jealousy, but their on-off relationship abruptly ended when Simon settled down with American socialite – Lauren.
When asked when Simon called time on their on-off relationship in an interview with New Magazine, published on OK!, Sinitta revealed that the moment she knew that her on-off relationship was over with Simon was when things got serious with his now long-term girlfriend.
She said: “It was Lauren Silverman, really. With Simon and I there was always an element of ‘Well, it’s never really over.’ But when [they got serious and] Eric was born that was it. A game changer. I would never, ever want to come between his family. I want them to be happy.”
Speaking to the magazine, Sinitta explained that she wasn’t impressed when Lauren and Simon got together, revealing how she and Lauren were best friends and their romance “caused a fallout” and was “hard”.
“Seven years on and I’m really happy for them,” she gushed to the publication.
“I adore Eric and he wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. God has a plan that is often different to your own. I have a lot of love and acceptance now. Love is stronger than pride,” she reflected.
“We’d still be together”
The publication probed Sinitta in 2020, asking her if she thinks she and Simon would be together still if he and Lauren hadn’t got together, to which she replied: “Yes, absolutely.”
Later on in the interview she said that she really believed when he got all “the madness of the other women out of his system”, they would have ended up together.
She detailed the close bond between her, his family and how it just felt “right,” before saying: “I would’ve married him and stayed with him forever,” revealing that she “never fell out of love with him”.
Swept under the rug
Although Lauren and Simon’s relationship caused a rift between the trio – all is now fine, and the threesome often meet for lunch and in various social settings.
It seems as though Sinitta is very happy for the loved up couple, and the three stars could even be seen enjoying a lavish meal out back in the summer of 2021.
The threesome stopped for lunch at The Arts Club in London, where they appeared to be friendly with all past rifts and hard feelings swept under the rug.
