Love Island fans 'work out' Ekin-Su is a plant as they twig key producers twist

Love Island viewers are sure that Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is a “plant” put into the show by the producers in order to spice up the drama.

Ekin-Su has been making wild moves in the villa so far, snogging Davide last night in a kiss viewers quickly branded “horrendous”.

And tonight (June 13), sparks were flying between her and new bombshell Jacques, as he made a move on her – with Ekin-Su reminding him that she isn’t in a relationship with Davide just yet.

Taking to Twitter, fans are sure her spontaneous nature could be a hint that she’s simply using her acting career to her advantage, and has been put into the villa by show bosses.

She’s made no secret of her past as an actress in Turkish soaps, telling her fellow Islanders she has played “loads of characters” in the past. So could her villa personality be yet another one?

One fan theorised: “Ok I have a theory that Ekin-Su has been hired for an acting gig to try to spice things up, they told her to be forward and embarrassing #LoveIsland.”

“Ekin-Su is a plant because no way is she this thirsty!” someone else echoed, while a third fan said: “Ekin-Su is a plant in there! Producers have put in for drama alone!”

Another fan giggled: “Ekin-Su is definitely a plant who has this much confidence?? I love her!”

Cutting to the chase, a fifth fan said: “Ekin-Su is a production plant.”

It has never emerged that Love Island bosses used a plant in the past – but some stars are deliberately scouted by show crew based on their Instagram profiles, YouTube fame or past notoriety.

Despite that, most stars do apply to be on the show – and all stars must complete a video about themselves ahead of going into the villa.

Jess and Eve Gale, for example, were both head-hunted from Instagram, while Nas Majeed was spotted on YouTube.

It makes sense that bosses would know about Ekin-Su’s acting past, as she played Isil in Turkish soap opera Kuzey Yildizi.

She also took part in a university film project called Lancashore – a loose spoof of ‘reality’ series Geordie Shore, which followed the lives of male and female students.

Ekin-Su went by the name Suzie Hayzel at the time, and in a clip from the ‘show’, could be seen wearing a tight monochrome dress as a pal told her: “I think the boys will be coming down soon.”

Ekin replied: “The boys? I’ve never met them. Who are they?”

A second pal told her: “I think they live upstairs,” as Ekin quipped: “Are they hot? Because I’m single, so…”

Love Island airs nightly from 9pm on ITV2.
