Martin Roberts says he had 'minutes to live' in recent hospital dash health scare

Martin Roberts has revealed he had “minutes of life left” during a recent health scare.

The Homes Under The Hammer host, 58, appeared on the latest episode of This Morning, where he opened up about being rushed to hospital last month.

The I’m A Celeb alum underwent surgery to drain excess fluid which was putting pressure on his heart and speaking to presenters Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, Martin revealed he only had “minutes of life left” during the terrifying ordeal.

Confirming that he thought he might die, Martin said: “We’re talking minutes/hours of life left here.

“You need a great team to spot it and you need some fairly specialist equipment and skills to sort it out.”

“By the time they got to me, my kidneys were at 30 per cent my liver was at 30 per cent, my lungs.

“It wasn’t that my lungs weren’t working.

“It was that my heart wasn’t able to pump the blood so it wasn’t getting the oxygen and at any point I could have had a heart attack.”
