Mighty Ducks actor Shaun Weiss celebrates two years of sobriety with unrecognisable snap

Mighty Ducks actor Shaun Weiss is unrecognisable after kicking the drug addiction that ravaged his appearance.

Shaun, 42, posted a twinned up before and after image of himself on Instagram as he celebrated his two-years sober milestone.

One snap in the double post showed the former Disney star looking pale and dishevelled, with his slender frame seriously undernourished.

The other showed him looking years younger with a healthy complexion and healthy body weight.

Shaun attributed the drastic change to his commitment to overhauling his life by following the 12 step programme.

He wrote on the caption: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with 12 amazing steps.”

Disney child star Shaun checked in to rehab in March 2020 as he made the decision to get a hold on his spiralling life.

A friend of the star, Drew Gallagher, reposted the twin up as he bragged about his achievement calling it a “triumph.”

He wrote: “So proud of you brother – look at you now.”

In January 2020 Drew opened up to People magazine as he spoke up in support of Shaun and his journey to sobriety.

He said: “There’s not a blameless Shaun Weiss here, he is definitely to blame for a lot of stupid s**t he does.

“If you were to spend any time with him you would have a drastically more compassionate understanding of what he was about.

“He’s sick, he’s mentally ill. He’s just sick and everybody gives up on him.”

Shaun’s use of drugs led to him getting into trouble on several occasions.

In 2017 he was sentenced to 150 days in jail for petty theft but only served 12 before being released.

He was then arrested for possession of methamphetamine in Burbank, California, serving a further 90 days.

A year later in August 2018 he was again imprisoned for public intoxication.

In January 2020 just before deciding to get help, Shaun was caught breaking into a home while high on methamphetamine.

He had reportedly broken into a garage in Van Nuys, California, allegedly smashing a car windshield.

A police report read: “Officers noticed shattered glass on the ground and observed that the passenger window to the vehicle was broken.”

The case was dismissed in July 2021 after Shaun had successfully completed a drug court program and reached 18 months of sobriety from his meth addiction.
